Types of computer equipment

A computer has hardware and software needed for work. Each computer has different hardware specifications, but there are some basics that are common to all are. Keep reading to learn more...

Hardware includes the mechanical computer and electronic components. The material includes the unit system that components such as the motherboard, CPU, chipset, RAM, hard disk, video adapter and sound card. The material also includes devices that are used for import, export and storage of data.

There are also other types of computer hardware. For example, CPU, processes and manages the information and can be designated as the brain of a computer. Then there is the internal bus which connects the motherboard on the video and sound cards and PCI bus equipment is connected to the computer. The Northbridge and the southbridge are logical base chipset, the exchange of information between the hard drive and the verification of the computer. The North Bridge connects the South Bridge with the computer, and they both determine how fast the system can access the memory. The external bus is controlled by the South Bridge or the PCI bus. The chipset is used for communication between the CPU and memory.

RAM is the RAM that you with works must store and information processes. The RAM is faster than the hard disk, but it is a volatile, which means that temporary data is stored and loses all information, when the power is turned off. Types of RAM are SRAM and DRAM. BIOS Basic Input Output System and includes the firmware. The firewire connects a digital video camera to the computer. The SATA hard drive is connected to the computer, while the external SATA eSATA.

A hard disk consists of plates with magnetic surfaces and it stores information that are not processed. A hard drive is non-volatile, which means that it data stored permanently and the information is not lost when power outages. Types of hard disks are IDE and SATA. A hard disk solid state is similar to a hard disk, but it is not magnetic. The removable disk include a CD-ROM drive is read and CD; a reader of DVD-ROM drive that can read from that DVD and BD - ROM drive that is read and a Blu - Ray disc. A CD-writer writes the data to a CD and is used for the backup files. A DVD burner writes on DVD, while a DVD-RAM also wrote on DVD, but rewrites it supports more than a DVD burner. A BD-writer written on Blu - Ray discs. Some old computers still a floppy disk drive that a floppy disk and reading all these computer systems now almost technologically obsolete. A USB flash drive reads flash memory. It is small, lightweight and portable, pocket-sized.

Graphics card information on the screen and is used to render graphics in a computer. Monitor CRT or LCD, which perhaps, images and videos displayed on a computer, by manipulating the color of pixels on the screen.

A sound card plays the files audio sound produced for speakers and sounds if an input from a microphone. Speakers for audio output such as music and sound effects and the headset to hear the sounds which are only intended to serve the individual hearing.

You can also connect devices such as the input devices such as a keyboard or a mouse to accept user input and convert it to digital data. A user can type with a keyboard, letter different digit keys, the modifier keys like Esc (Escape), Ctrl (control), and Alt (alternate) and the function F1, F2 and F3 keys. The caps lock key allows the user to type uppercase letters, while tab moves the cursor forward to the next tab stop. Keyboard shortcuts are a combination of two keys at the same time and the arrow keys on the keyboard of the computer used as navigation keys. The numeric keypad of the keyboard has a format similar to that of a calculator. When the Num Lock key is enabled, the keys of a numeric keypad, and if the NUM LOCK is disabled, the keys can be used for navigation.

A mouse has a wheel and two buttons that allow you to click, double-click, and drag items. When one moves the mouse on a mouse pad or a surface plane, the pointer moves on the screen. Optical mouse is a mouse with laser LED technology. A trackball is a device with a ball that can turn on a socket. Joystick and the control box are two of the other popular input devices.

A desktop computer system also includes a scanner, which analyses the images and a webcam, what video input. A modem that sends and receives data via telephone cables and facilitates access to the internet. A printer produces text or images on paper.

A power to power a computer to an electrical outlet. The case of PC can vertically or horizontally, and the cables and wires are also considered as part of the equipment. In the future there are quantum computers and electronic paper used in e-book readers. The future of the material is very promising. Processors get faster, hard drives have a storage space more and more powerful computers to get. Their speed and power of the world will be a revolution.
